Department Research Servers
The table below is for physical servers owned by research groups in the department, which have relied on the CSR office for some of their technical support.

FPGA Server
The Configurable Computing Lab (CCL) purchased the current FPGA Server in November 2016 (it was delivered in February 2017, thus the warranty expiration date in February). It is used for file storage by the research group, and houses the fpga1, fpga2, and fpga3 network shares (all are located in the /home directory). These directories are being backed up to the department CrashPlan server (ecebackup). The CCL students primarily manage and support the server, though we do have a sysop account. There is an ILO inferface at fpgaserver-ilo.ee.byu.edu.
The old server is still on, though its support has expired and its future use is uncertain. It was originally purchased in February 2010. It's HP Care Pack Serial Number was G6SNUS03C501. It's hard drive spare part number was 461289-001. It's ILO can still be accessed at fpgaserver-old-ilo.ee.byu.edu.
Jimmer
The Radio Astronomy group, under Karl Warnick, in CB480 and CB506 acquired a Dell Cloud Edge C2100 Server in March 2011. They use it as a computational node and for file storage (it has 96GB of RAM and 12 3TB SATA drives). It is running Windows 2008 Server SP1 64bit from MSDNAA. You can remotely manage the server from the URL https://10.8.118.140:1311/servlet/OMSALogin?msgStatus=null with the standard server user name and password. Its Dell Service Tag is 7TWKCP1, and its Express Service Code is 17045692741.
Telemetry
The server was purchased by Michael Rice to host the telemetry website. He has large MATLAB datasets that required a large amount of disk space. All files are store under the www folder and are being backed up by ecebackup in Y-Cloud.
MriBackup
The MRI Research Facility, under Dr. Neal Bangerter, built this server from scratch in November 2015. Building from components is usually against College policy, but the MRI Research Facility is not technically part of the College. The Department is lending the rackspace to the MRI Facility.
