Undergraduate Lab Replacement Cycle (Before 2018)
For more up-to-date information on this topic, see this page.
Below is a table of the Undergraduate Labs and their respective computer replacement cycle. We have six labs: CB400 (Embedded Systems), CB413 (Digital Lab), CB425 (Spice Linux and Windows in the CAEDM Lab), CB428 (Analog Lab), CB430 (Analog Lab), CB490 (DSP) and FB280 (Controls). CB530 used to be a teaching lab but that room was converted into a research area and the classes that were taught there are now taught in the Analog labs. We still replace those machines on the replacement cycle and find uses for them within the department. The table below shows the number of computers replaced during that given year and in which labs they were replaced.
Allocation | 2017 | 2018 | 2019 | 2020 |
---|---|---|---|---|
180 Computers | 0 | 10 (FB290) + 8 (CB530) | 105 (CB400,425,428,430,490) | 57 (CB413) |
180 Monitors | 0 | 98 (CB413,428,430,530) | 10 (FB280) + 72 (CB400,425,490) | 0 |
In 2009 Access Point funding was frozen so we did not receive funds for replacements. This moved all replacements forward one year.
